What is a current transformer?
CT (Current Transformer) meters are installed on any connections with a load greater than 100 Amps. They measure a fraction of the amps (current) passing through the connection and a multiplier is applied to this reading to reflect the actual amps.
When used with a CT operated meter these small devices are able to feed accurate real time data to the meter in order to display a guaranteed reading on energy consumption.
How they work
Current Transformers open and close around a current carrying conductor and measure its current by determining the magnetic field around it, providing a quick measurement reading usually on a digital display without disconnecting or opening the circuit.
The Accuenergy Rogowski Integrator Kit (RIK) provides users with an easy-to-install, plug-n-play solution to be used with any power meters or equipment with a 5A current transformer input. Meaning the RIK will allow for the installation of Rogowski coil CTs in a variety of applications/configurations where spatial constraints may limit the use of other CT solutions.
The RIK kit is designed around a three channel 5A output integrator and includes with it three Accuenergy Rogowski coil current sensors, and one power supply. All of these parts are further configurable for the needs of many applications. The RIK kit is designed to provide accurate and reliable power measurements in a variety of locations, allowing users to install Rogowski coil CTs even with space constraints. This makes it an ideal solution for many applications and configurations.
